Janet’s last Day at TK9!

November  5, 2010

I wanted to take a minute this morning to have everyone stop and say thank you to Janet, as this is her last day in Sanford at Tarheel Canine. While she is going to be working with us in other ways, I know that I will personally miss having her at Tarheel Canine.  Janet came to work for me and within a year turned around a languishing pet program. And when 2 of my police dog trainers quit within 2 months of one another, as well as the office manager (back when we only had 2 police dog trainers and a pet trainer and an office manager) she stepped up to the police dog program, learned the ropes, and became an excellent trainer and teacher, and finally our head Trainer and manager of Tarheel Canine.

When I chose to step back from the day to day at Tarheel Canine, she stepped up and ran the business and managed the day to day operations having my complete trust. I can only say how proud I am of her, of how she always conducted herself with confidence and dedicated herself to learning and believing in the Tarheel Canine approach to training. She added a lot to the programs, and built on the foundation that she learned from me, but she never wavered in believing that what sets us apart from the rest is our program of training, the approach we take, and customer service we aspire to provide.

Tarheel Canine is far and away a better place for her time at the helm, and I want everyone to know, that on her watch we have grown, survived some hard times, and become bigger and better than we were when she started as a trainer. I am happy for her that she is opening a new chapter in her life, and I wish her success and happiness.

I thank you, Janet, for the grace and concern you showed at your departure from Tarheel, leaving on the best of terms, caring about the people who worked for and with you, always, and for what you have taught the present group of trainers of whom I am so proud. I wish you success in what is to come, and I wish you happiness in your life, and I look forward to continuing to work with you in the years to come.  I thank you for the mutual respect we have, and for being such a big part of my life and the lives of all the students, handlers, and employees whose lives you have touched who have come and gone through Tarheel Canine. I will miss you, and I hope you achieve all you wish, and thank you for everything you have done for me over the years, and above all your friendship and support.
