Amanda has been with Tarheel since May of 2009. Before starting here she had a lot of experience working with dogs as a kennel tech at several local animal hospitals. She first started at Tarheel as a kennel tech, but quickly became passionate about training and began shadowing other trainers whenever she wasn’t taking care of the dogs. Noticing her potential she was offered an internship and upon completion was offered a trainers position. As a trainer she is responsible for teaching pet obedience/behavior modification, all areas of police k9 training, and SAR. She has recently acquired Dutch Shepherd puppy “Ziva” and is in the process of training her for explosives detection and hopes to compete in PSA with her.
