Felix Pachon (Instructor School Student) – Tempe, AZ

My name is Felix Pachon, I own and operate Proving Ground Kennels out of Tempe, AZ. My passion for dogs began at an early age in Colombia, I started training competitive obedience with a local academy at the age of 13. As one develops as a trainer many new lessons are learned yet many mistakes are also made, that is why in order to become a professional you must learn, be corrected and then guided by the true professionals in this field. Prior to attending Tarheel Canine I had a general knowledge of dogs and training yet very broad and not specialized enough. From the moment I stepped off the plane in North Carolina the learning process began, I felt very welcome and I knew this was my kind of place the moment we arrived. From then on the fun began, learning how to decoy for different kinds of dogs (Police, PSA, Personal Protection), learning how to use the E-Collar for specialized applications, and most importantly developing the work ethic that separates amateurs from professionals. At this point I can safely say attending Tarheel Canine has been the best decision I’ve ever made. Not only did I attain the knowledge, skills, and work ethic to become succesful in this industry, I got to meet and learn from people that truly make me a better person.
