Onno’s Biography/Accomplishments:

• Member of KNPV since 1994.
• Member/Decoy of the KNPV club “Middenheerenduin” from 1992-2007.
• Originally trained extensively with Rick Wolterbeek, KNPV decoy.
• Trained & learned to decoy with Theo van Olphen, certified KNPV Nationals decoy.
• In 2000, began instructing dogs and handlers in KNPV exercises PH1 and Objectbewaking.
• In 2001, began training dogs and handlers for T&T Security Company.
• Instructed dogs and handlers at the KNPV club “Zuiderhout”.
• In 2003, he began training his dog Bram for the KNPV Searchdog Certification.
• In 2005, he began training dog and handler teams for the KNPV Searchdog Certification.
• In 2008, he started his own KNPV Searchdog club, “Pzhg Middenheernduin” with his partner Karin Vrolijk.
• Dog handler at the Amstelveen Police Force 1994-1995.
• Trained his patrol dog Floris, a male Malinois/German Shepherd, to KNPV PH1 and Police patroldog certification.
• Trained his dog Bram, a male Malinois, to PH1 and KNPV Searchdog Humanscent.
• Trained his current dog Xanto, a male German Shepherd, to the following KNPV certifications: Searchdog Basic, Scent discrimination A and B, Rescuedog A, Trackingdog A, Searchdog A.

– Introduction of Onno Brens
-The Royal Dutch Searchdog Academy in Nunspeet, NL.
-KNPV and Scent Work Certifications

-The influence of the handler on the dog when tracking.
-The influence of conditions of the track.
-Soft and hard surface considerations.
-The systems of tracking at IPO, KNPV, Dutch police and the system of Dick Staal.
-How to start tracking with a “green” dog.
-Soft surface tracking.
-Hard surface Tracking.
-How to start tracking hard surface.
